ABBOTSFORD — Proactive traffic enforcement along streets in Abbotsford continues to lead to a number of tickets being issued.
Abbotsford Police say they pulled five impaired drivers off city streets over the weekend and issued 12 violation tickets.
By the end of the weekend, they had held five individuals in custody.
However, the oddest incident of the weekend may have taken place along South Fraser Way. An Abbotsford Police officer pulled over a driver who was travelling 35 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. When questioned, the driver explained they were trying to save gas because of the rising fuel prices.
