Province to expand Abbotsford interchange to 5 lanes
ABBOTSFORD – As part of ongoing construction activities to improve travel along Highway 1 through the heavily-congested Fraser Valley, the province plans to expand an Abbotsford interchange from three lanes to five lanes.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Transportation and Transit, the B.C. government plans to widen the Mount Lehman Road Interchange from three to five lanes, to better connect Abbotsford to the Fraser Highway and Abbotsford International Airport.
Upgrades include additional lanes, seismic improvements and a new multi-use path.
The province says the upgrades will support growing communities, enhance safety and reliability, and keep people and goods moving efficiently throughout the region.
