CHILLIWACK — For the past 2 1/2 months, Chilliwack residents who frequented the Cheam Leisure Centre in Garrison for anything from basketball to weights and cardio were able to use the facility for free.
All they had to do was provide their name and phone number on a written notepad at the front desk. It happened after the transition period from Recreation Excellence to YMCA occurred in early September.
That’s all about to change starting next week when the Cheam Leisure Centre begins charging visitors and guests.
A sign posted on the lobby doors Monday (Nov. 21) indicated that the YMCA, the municipal operator of the Cheam Leisure Centre, will start assessing user fees next week Tuesday, November 29.
