CHILLIWACK — A GoFundMe initiative has been launched for the victims of yesterday’s early morning fire that happened in the 45000 block of Watson Road in the vicinity of Watson Elementary.

Joanne Dekkers of Chilliwack has organized the campaign to assist Dawne Morris and her boys, Chance and Kingston, after their Watson Road townhouse was destroyed by fire early Monday morning (Nov. 21).

The GoFundMe link stated, “In the wee hours of November 21st, 2022, the home of Dawne Morris and her boys, Chance and Kingston, was destroyed by fire. It appears to have been arson, and the fire department and police are investigating. Unfortunately, Dawne did not have contents insurance, and they lost everything; everything, from a place to live, to furniture and clothing; even Christmas decorations, which were already set up for the season. As a community, we want to reach out and help this dear family to recover by assisting in replacing their belongings.”
