City of Chilliwack gears up for winter
CHILLIWACK — As a cold spell lingers in Chilliwack this week, the City of Chilliwack has been preparing for the arrival of Old Man Winter long before whiteout conditions wreak havoc on local roads.
The City posted on its Facebook page earlier this week that snowplowable reflectors have been installed on six primary roads in Chilliwack as a means of providing safe delineation to drivers during adverse, difficult weather conditions.
The City wrote on its website that the installations involve milling out narrow strips of asphalt and installing the casting with epoxy, thereby enabling snow plows to successfully glide over the reflectors while shielding them from damage.
