Chilliwack boys cherish racing experience, as aspiring riders are invited to Ride Day Clinic this Saturday
ALDERGROVE — Chilliwack resident Bryana McDermott says her two boys ages 11 and 6 have fallen in love with quarter midget racing, and hopes other kids in Chilliwack and the area get a chance to experience it at a ride clinic this weekend.
The Langley Quarter Midget Association, a non-profit organization that specializes in car racing for kids ages 5-16 years of age, will hold their Ride Day Clinic this Saturday, January 24 starting at 9 a.m. at the LQMA race track in Aldergrove.
McDermott says her two sons have experienced a sense of community through quarter midget racing, among a number of benefits.
“Our boys live for the speed and adrenaline of the track, but the biggest win is the community they’ve found,” McDermott said. “Whether they are competing against eachother on the track or bonding over remote control cars, scooters and bikes off the track, they are building lifelong friendships with other kids, while also learning sportsmanship, focus, discipline and resilience.”
