Original story:

ABBOTSFORD — The man killed inside an Abbotsford home on Friday had previously faced charges related to a conspiracy to commit murder, drug trafficking and firearms offences.

In 2022, AbbyPD launched a large-scale drug trafficking investigation into two Abbotsford residents who were involved in the B.C. gang conflict and posed a significant public safety risk.

In February 2024, police arrested Navpreet Dhaliwal and Anmol Sandhu for drug offences and suspected conspiracy to commit murder.

Both men were released on bail in August that year, pending trial on numerous charges, and were set to live in a west Abbotsford residence.

A police source has since told Fraser Valley Today that Dhaliwal was the victim shot dead at a home in the 3200 block of Siskin Drive.

IHIT has taken over the investigation and has yet to release official details.

Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact the IHIT Infoline at 1-877-551-4448.
