Vedder Road in Sardis to undergo more road resurfacing later this year

“The current condition of the road is due to a BC Hydro project. City staff have already met with BC Hydro’s team to let them know that the road’s condition is unsatisfactory and that additional work is needed to smooth out the rough areas as soon as possible,” a statement from the city’s communications department noted on Thursday, November 20. “BC Hydro has advised that their crews aim to complete the road restoration by early next week; however, the City has scheduled our Operations crew to complete the work as a contingency, at BC Hydro’s cost and weather permitting, by Thursday (Nov. 27) next week.”

BC Hydro did some additional resurfacing work on Vedder Road during the last week of November to smooth out the rougher patches, city staff say.

The final layer of pavement to complete the resurfacing cannot be applied in the middle of winter, so it is planned for spring 2026 once the weather permits, city staff say.
