Vedder Road in Sardis to undergo more road resurfacing later this year
CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack is fully aware that parts of Vedder Road between Watson Road and South Sumas Road aren’t suitable or smooth, but it could be months before the road gets fully repaired in 2026.
According to statements released by the city’s communications department, a stretch of Vedder Road in Sardis will undergo additional road repair later this year after a BC Hydro duct installation project left parts of the road in poor condition.
BC Hydro completed duct installation work along Vedder Road between the Vedder Road/South Sumas intersection and south of the Promontory/Watson/Vedder Intersection this past fall. Those construction activities, however, left Vedder Road in poor shape.
Fraser Valley Today contacted City of Chilliwack staff in November to inquire about when the road might be fixed, given how bad some sections of Vedder Road were.
