Nov 11, 2022 | 6:05 AM

ABBOTSFORD β€” Remembrance Day activities in Abbotsford will centre around Thunderbird Memorial Square along Veterans Way this morning. With the Environment Canada weather forecast calling for a chance of rain or wet flurries and a temperature
in the single digits, residents will want to dress appropriately.

A short parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. before the ceremony gets underway at 10:45 a.m.

Abbotsford Mayor Ross Siemens and members of City Council are scheduled to be in attendance and emphasized the importance of the event in a written statement.

β€œOn Remembrance Day each year, we come together to honour and remember the sacrifices and contributions of those who have proudly and courageously served our county in war, conflict and in peacekeeping. All these heroes, along with their families, deserve our recognition and we owe them a debt of gratitude for protecting our liberty and way of life. Our freedom, and the way of life we have become accustomed to, is owed to the countless brave individuals who are willing to fight for it and gave their own lives for it. We Must Never Forget – Abbotsford City Council.’
