AbbyPD issue nearly 5,000 traffic violation tickets in 2025

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department says traffic safety remained a priority in 2025 as officers issued roughly 4,900 violation tickets over the past year – more than double the amount in 2024.

“Traffic enforcement isn’t just about issuing tickets—it’s about saving lives,” wrote AbbyPD.

“Our officers remain dedicated to proactive enforcement and education to keep Abbotsford’s roads safe for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.”

Impaired drivers (1,239) accounted for a significant number of infractions. Officers also impounded 420 vehicles for excessive speeding.
