Chilliwack Chiefs to host annual food bank donation night Saturday

CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Chiefs are looking to kick off the new year by helping to feed those in need with their annual “Fill the Rink” game this weekend.

At 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, the Chiefs will face the Langley Rivermen for the first time this season – while hosting the event in support of the Salvation Army food bank.

Adult tickets will be discounted for anyone who brings two non-perishable food items for donation. Drop-offs are also open at the team’s office throughout the week.

“Let’s start the new year off right and come together as a community to fill the rink and replenish the shelves of The Salvation Army Food Bank after Christmas,” said the Chiefs.

Former Chiefs associate coach Brad Rihela will also be returning Saturday as the new Langley head coach and general manager.
