FRASER CANYON — Environment Canada is advising Fraser Valley motorists traveling between Hope and Lytton or on their way to B.C.’s Interior today to expect snow throughout the day.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning Friday morning for Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon, saying snowfall amounts of 10-15 cms are expected today until Friday night. The warning covers smaller communities along Highway 1 like Yale, Boston Bar, and Lytton.

The national weather agency says a frontal system is moving across southern B.C. today, producing snow throughout the Fraser Canyon. Accumulations of anywhere between 10 and 15 cms are expected before the snow eases off Friday evening.

Visibility could be reduced at times. Motorists are asked to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions and allow extra time for travel.
