Abbotsford police investigating hammer attack
ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford are asking for witnesses to come forward with information on an assault early Friday (Nov. 4) morning.
In a news release, police say they received multiple calls to the 32000 block of Mt. Waddington Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. In what police are calling a targeted attack, a 37-year-old man had been assaulted while walking in the area.
According to police, the victim was approached by a woman driving a newer silver or dark grey 4-door hatchback. A man jumped out of the rear door of the woman’s car and confronted the victim, demanding his belongings. At that point, he produced a hammer and attacked the victim. Luckily, the victim escaped with minor injuries only.
The suspected attacker is described as Caucasian, with short dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt, shorts and a mask.
