Fundraiser launched in memory of Surrey woman who passed in fatal Golden Ears Way crash
MAPLE RIDGE — The community is rallying to support a grieving mother after a young woman was killed in a fatal crash in Maple Ridge earlier this month.
Nineteen-year-old Angeleka Loxam died at the scene on Saturday, December 6, after her vehicle struck a light pole near the Golden Ears Bridge – leaving loved ones mourning the loss of a compassionate and driven young woman with a deep commitment to helping others.
“Angeleka was somebody that you can’t lie to,” said Sabrina Vergara, a long-time family friend. “You look into her eyes, and she looks straight into your soul, and they don’t judge you; she’s never judged me.”
Vergara said Loxam aspired to become a criminal lawyer and was already living out her values through service, working at a nursing home and volunteering much of her free time with a local mission society.
