Castle Fun Park closes due to heavy flooding, 3rd time in its history

ABBOTSFORD — With several evacuation orders in place along Highway 1 in Abbotsford, businesses like Castle Fun Park are forced to close thanks to heavy rain – again.

The amusement park posted on Friday, December 12, that the business will be closed due to flooding in the parking lot and surrounding areas.

“We’ll continue to keep you informed as we learned more,” said the park in a social media post. “Stay safe, dry, and we hope to welcome you back soon!”

Videos from the area Thursday night show water flowing from the parking lot to the creek, with the building seemingly unaffected.

The over-35-year-old park went through its first severe weather event in November 1990, when it was still called Wonderland.

In 2021, the business closed again due to flooding and did not reopen its doors until July the following year.
