Police re-issue appeal to find missing 69-year-old in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department is once again asking for the public’s help in locating a senior who has been missing for over two months.

On October 28, 69-year-old Peter Jones was reported missing by his family, with new video footage showing him in the 1900 block of McCallum Road at 2:49 a.m. on October 5.

He was seen wearing blue jeans and a grey sweater at that time, and no new leads have emerged since.

Before that, his last confirmed sighting was on October 4 in the 2100 block of Sumas Way, wearing a blue t-shirt.

Jones is described as about 5’7” with long, shoulder-length hair.

In a video appeal shared by his daughter Jasmine, she shared that Jones has been in the community for only a couple of years and is not fully familiar with the area.

“He does suffer from a little bit of mental illness and has been without his medication,” she said. “He may appear confused or disorientated, but he’s a gentle soul.”
