The BC RCMP says the Provincial Extortion Task Force has charged two men after two separate shooting incidents in Surrey in 2025.

The first happened in the 13000 block of 103A Avenue on October 12, 2025, when shots were fired at a home, injuring a female victim.

Police were called out several days later on October 16 to a report of shots fired in the 8400 block of 120 Street.

In that case, shots were fired at a cafe but no one was injured.

On November 1, 2026, the task force, working with CFSEU-BC and the Surrey Police Service arrested two people in Surrey.

Charges have now been laid against 22-year-old Pardeep Singh and 22-year-old Saveer Khan.  Both are charged with two counts of reckless discharge of a firearm and they remain in police custody.

“These charges are the result of extensive investigative work conducted over the past year, including multiple judicial authorizations, search warrants, and detailed analysis of evidence,” said Chief Superintendent Duncan Pound, Lower Mainland District Operations Officer and Assistant District Commander.

“These charges should serve as another clear message to those involved in extortion-related violence that law enforcement is working collaboratively to ensure public safety.”

The BC Provincial Extortion Task Force was established in September 2025 to coordinate and enhance investigations into extortion-related offences affecting communities across the province.

Led by the BC RCMP, the task force is comprised of members from several policing and law enforcement agencies, including the Abbotsford Police Department, Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – British Columbia (CFSEU-BC), Delta Police Department, Metro Vancouver Transit Police, Surrey Police Service, and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

So far, the task force has secured 28 charges against 14 people and has provided assistance to numerous other policing and law enforcement agencies across the country in response to extortion-related violence.
