CHILLIWACK – One man has been arrested after police responded to a disturbance about fires being lit inside a home on McIntosh Drive in Chilliwack last week.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says RCMP members responded to a report of a disturbance involving a man allegedly causing damage inside a home and lighting fires.

The incident occurred last Thursday evening, October 15, at approximately 8 p.m.

She says the man was arrested to prevent the issue from continuing.

Cpl. Kiener says a police investigation determined that no fires were actually lit inside the home.

She says the incident was an isolated one, and was not connected to any other reported incidents.

No injuries were reported.

An on-scene witness told Fraser Valley Today that at least five RCMP members attended. Scanner traffic indicated someone inside a home was trying to light it on fire. The incident happened on McIntosh Drive near Spartan Crescent, the on-scene witness reported.
