An on-scene witnessed estimated that six Chilliwack fire engines attended the fires. Firefighters were on scene for several hours.

A social media post from Sqwá First Nation says it experienced two fires last Saturday night, including one involving an abandoned trailer and another at its old hall. It says it will move to 24/7 patrols and seek patrols from the RCMP. “While we are relieved that no one was harmed, the loss of our old hall is felt deeply across our Nation,” the band wrote online.

The Chilliwack Fire Department has not responded to a request for information about the fires from Fraser Valley Today.
