Canadian Grands BMX championships coming to Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — The Canadian Grands BMX event is set for October 9 to 11 at Chilliwack Heritage Park.

Saturday registration runs from 8:30 to 10 a.m., with a Superclass autograph session scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. Racing begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Superclass Saturday Evening Show at 5 p.m.

The Saturday showcase will feature Superclass finals, along with the 13-16 Futures and 11-12 Trophy Dash.

Featured classes include 14-29 Superclass Men and Women, 30-plus Superclass Men, 13-16 Futures Boys and Girls, and 11-12 Trophy Dash events for boys and girls.

The Sunday event begins with corrections from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., followed by racing at 9 a.m. There will be no signups or practice Sunday.

Registration for Friday, Saturday and Sunday races is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. October 9, with practice beginning at 11:30 a.m. Racing is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Parking is listed at $10 per day or $25 for the weekend. RV parking is also available, with rates listed for spaces with and without hookups.

Organizers say tent spaces will be available for booking next week.
