CHILLIWACK — A group of communities from the Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe has completed the acquisition of Elements Casino Chilliwack from Great Canadian Entertainment. The agreement to sell the popular entertainment facility was announced in November, 2025. The transaction closed Tuesday (July 28) and marks what the parties describe as a transformational milestone for the communities involved.

Chief David Jimmie, president of Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Ltd., said the purchase represents the next stage in the group’s economic growth. “Our communities have built a diverse business portfolio over the years in commercial real estate development, sustainable forestry operations, environmental stewardship and conservation of cultural values, and energy infrastructure,” Jimmie said in a news release.  “This acquisition is the next step in that growth. Elements Casino Chilliwack is a strong, established business, and we’re proud to bring gaming and hospitality into our portfolio.”

Elements Casino Chilliwack serves people from across the Fraser Valley. It features more than 300 slot machines, live and electronic table games, bingo, dining and live entertainment.

Matt Anfinson, chief executive officer of Great Canadian Entertainment, said the company believes the casino will enter an exciting new chapter under the Ts’elxwéyeqw Group’s leadership. “We have had the privilege of being part of the Chilliwack community since we opened Elements Casino Chilliwack in 2012,” Anfinson said. “For the team members and guests of Elements Casino Chilliwack, and the local community, we can think of no better steward for the business.”
