Excessive speeding ticket leads to seven-day vehicle impound in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD — A driver has been ticketed after police say he was caught travelling more than twice the posted speed limit on McMillan Road in Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford Police Department says traffic officers clocked a pickup truck at 101 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The 58-year-old driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speeding and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. Police say the driver had to arrange alternative transportation from the traffic stop.

The enforcement followed ongoing concerns from residents about vehicle speeds along McMillan Road. Police say the Traffic Enforcement Unit continues to target speeding and other unsafe driving behaviours throughout the community.
