SURREY – Police in Surrey say three foreign nationals have been sentenced in connection with a shooting in Surrey earlier this year.

Surrey Police Service spokesperson Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton says the shooting happened on Feb. 1, 2026 at approximately 3:50 a.m. Surrey Police Service (SPS) members assigned to Project Assurance, working in collaboration with SPS’s Major Crime Section, were patrolling in Surrey’s Crescent Beach neighbourhood when reports came in of shots fired and a small fire outside a residence near Crescent Road and 132 Street.

The three foreign nationals were arrested by SPS officers a short time later near 28 Avenue and 140 Street.

SPS’s Major Crime Section detectives oversaw the investigation and collaborated with officers on SPS’s Project Assurance. As a result, they were able to secure evidence leading to the charges against Harjot Singh, a 21-year-old male, Taranveer Singh, a 19-year-old male, and Dayajeet Singh Billing, a 21-year-old male.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the three men submitted guilty pleas and were sentenced in Surrey Provincial Court.
