CHILLIWACK – Police aren’t saying much this early in the investigation, but they have confirmed that a man was transported to hospital with injuries after a weapons-related incident in Chilliwack Wednesday night.

Two Chilliwack-area Facebook groups reported police activity Wednesday night after residents saw multiple RCMP vehicles heading south on Vedder Road in Sardis. One person online said police were stationed two blocks east of Vedder on Keith Wilson Road, while another reported seeing seven RCMP vehicles and three ambulances heading south on Vedder Road from the Dutch Bros. Buds retail store area.

Scanner traffic indicated a possible stabbing in that area, but police have not confirmed that, or elaborated on the nature of the incident.

“I can confirm that we attended a report of an incident involving a weapon that resulted in injuries to a man that was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries,” Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener stated.
