5 residents displaced after latest house fire in Chilliwack
CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Fire Department is issuing a safety reminder after crews tackled a house fire in a northeast neighbourhood early Saturday morning.
At around 4:50 a.m., roughly 15 firefighters from Hall 1 responded to reports of the incident in the 46000 block of Mayfair Avenue and found smoke and flames coming from the attic of the residential structure.
Crews first put out the fire and kept it from spreading beyond the attic, then moved the attack inside and confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated the house.
Emergency Support Services volunteers also attended the scene.
