CHILLIWACK — Eight experienced police officers were sworn in by RCMP Chief Superintendent Mark Le Page last week in Surrey.
The group was welcomed into the RCMP as members of Troop #16. Troop #16 consists of fully trained and experienced officers who have transferred from other police services across the country into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
One of the officers has been placed at the Chilliwack detachment.
Mounties say there are more opportunities for experienced officers from other Canadian police agencies who may be looking to move to the RCMP. Officers who are considering a move should visit the RCMP website.
