RCMP in Agassiz pull suspected impaired driver off road
AGASSIZ — As Canadians recognize National Impaired Driving Prevention week, the Upper Fraser Valley Regional RCMP Detachment says they dealt with two impaired driving investigations last week.
In its weekly report, Mounties say an officer was conducting proactive patrols when he discovered a vehicle with expired insurance.
The driver was pulled over to conduct a roadside stop. That’s when the officer picked up some signs that the driver may have been impaired.
A request for a breath sample was turned down by the driver. At that point, the officer issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition, a violation ticket for no insurance, and impounded the vehicle.
