Feds make funding annoucement for 14 homes in Abbotsford
ABBOTSFORD — The availability of subsidized homes in Abbotsford is growing with a $2.5 million dollar funding announcement by the federal government on Wednesday (March 18). In partnership with the Communitas Supportive Care Society, 14 homes will be constructed for those who require subsidized housing, including those with disabilities.
The project includes two single-storey wood-frame structures, which will offer full accessibility. Individuals could be eligible to access additional supports through the Communitas Supportive Care Society, including employment and life skills.
“The federal government is proud to be a part of such an important project for the community in Abbotsford,” said South Surrey–White Rock M.P. Ernie Klassen. “This project is proof of our collective commitment to building a more inclusive society where everyone belongs.”
No timeline was announced for the construction of the homes in central Abbotsford.
