HOPE – A retreat centre west of Hope is trying to figure out who had a trailer towed onto its property on New Year’s Eve and has yet to take ownership of it more than two months later.

Camp Hope, located just off Lougheed Highway west of Hope, is appealing to the public for help in identifying the owner of the trailer.

The retreat centre says the trailer was towed into the camp and parked in the camp’s storage area. A couple who resides on the property from the Lytton fire witnessed the trailer being towed onto Camp Hope but no one else did.

“They thought it was a tow company from Hope that brought it in, but we have contacted them both, and neither of them have records of it being them,” Camp Hope wrote online. “We do not know who it belongs to. No agreement document was signed and no storage fees are being paid. It is locked tight. The shades are all down. It has been abandoned on the camp.”

The camp says it has the trailer’s VIN and has sent an email to an RCMP contact to follow the proper protocol on how to get it resolved. They note the trailer doesn’t appear to be kept up, but it could be a lot nicer on the inside, assuming they ever get a glimpse of the interior.

“By outward appearances, it does not appear to be well taken care of. Can’t really get a good look inside,” the camp said. “Could it be beautiful inside and this is an amazing gift? Please help us solve the appearance of the 5th wheel.”
