UPDATE: Quebec driver of 18-wheeler that took out a Chilliwack light standard receives 2 fines (VIDEO)
UPDATE: BC Highway Patrol spokesperson Corporal Michael McLaughlin says police got a call at 7:51 a.m. Thursday morning about a tractor-trailer unit that had driven off the road and damaged a light standard and a farmer’s fence near Annis Road and Highway 1.
Corporal McLaughlin says the driver, a man from Quebec, was issued tickets for failing to file with trip inspection requirements, section 37.60(1) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act regulations, a fine of $138; and driving without due care and attention, section 144(1)(a) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act, a fine of $368.
Corporal McLaughlin says there were no injuries or significant delays as a result of the motor vehicle accident.
