Abbotsford PD seeks help locating a 15-year-old teen who was once reported missing from Chilliwack

ABBOTSFORD – The Abbotsford Police Department is appealing for help in locating a missing 15-year-old teenager from the Fraser Valley.

According to a statement, the Abbotsford PD says Jack Terpstra, who was previously reported missing from Chilliwack in late November 2025, was last seen in the 3100 block of Wheel Avenue in Abbotsford on Monday afternoon, Feb. 23 at around 2:30 p.m.

Terpstra is described as a Caucasian male, standing 5’7″, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black plaid jacket with a black hood, and an olive green shirt with “mountains and isles” written on it.

Police say Terpstra is known to walk long distances between cities and frequently uses public transit, including the SkyTrain. He is also known to frequent the Metrotown SkyTrain Station and Metropolis at Metrotown mall.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 604-859-5225. The AbbyPD file is 26-8128.

Terpstra was reported missing by the Chilliwack RCMP on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 with no phone or bus pass.

The following night, a search party of over 170 volunteers went out to find him, with an additional search and canvassing effort deployed Friday evening.

A Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson said Terpstra was located days later.

“On November 29, 2025 at approximately 1 a.m., [the teen] was located by Metro Vancouver Transit Police in Burnaby, B.C. He was found safe and his parents were advised. The Chilliwack RCMP want to thank everyone who participated in efforts to locate him.,” said Sgt. Alexandra Greenley.
