Police say non-compliant dune buggy belongs in video game, not area roads: Chilliwack RCMP
CHILLIWACK – Mounties in Chilliwack say a multitude of violation tickets were recently issued to the operator of a non-compliant dune buggy after it was deemed non-compliant with the Motor Vehicle Act.
According to a social media post from the Chilliwack RCMP detachment, police say they removed a dune buggy from the roadway and issued nine violation tickets to a motorist who decided to take it through downtown Chilliwack.
Police provided a picture of the dune buggy parked in the Coast Salish/Save-On-Foods shopping centre on Yale Road.
“When your vehicle belongs in a video game, not traffic – police will notice,” Chilliwack RCMP wrote. “As a result, nine violation tickets were issued. A friendly reminder that just because it has four wheels, doesn’t mean it belongs on the road. Road-ready vehicles keep everyone safe.”
