ABBOTSFORD — A man is now facing several years behind bars for drug- and gun-related charges, according to the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC).

In 2021, CFSEU-BC’s Illegal Firearms Enforcement Team (IFET) launched an investigation into the manufacturing of illegal firearms and arrested two men and one woman after executing search warrants at four locations in Abbotsford and Aldergrove.

Officers found “significant” quantities of drugs, drug production-related materials, and a gun-making operation using 3D printer technology.

In May 2023, Tyson Saverio Santolla was charged with three counts of possession for trafficking and one count each of firearms manufacturing and possession of a restricted firearm without a licence.

Santolla pleaded guilty to manufacturing firearms and possession for trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine in June 2025, and on Friday, January 30, he was sentenced to eight years in prison.

“The combination of illegal firearms and drug trafficking poses a significant danger to public safety,” said Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha, media relations officer of CFSEU-BC.

“This outcome demonstrates our commitment to removing these threats from our communities and ensuring those responsible face meaningful consequences.”
