Pedestrian dies after collision with train Thursday AM in Langley, the 2nd train vs. ped fatality in under 6 mos.

LANGLEY – For the second time in less than six months in Langley, a pedestrian has died after being hit by a train.

According to a statement of confirmation from Langley RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, police responded to a report of a collision between a train and a pedestrian Thursday morning, Jan. 29 at approximately 7:44 a.m., near Glover Road and Billy Brown Road in Langley.

Sgt. Sharoom says frontline officers immediately responded to the area and located an individual who had been struck by a train.

“Despite life-saving efforts the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. “Road closures are in effect in the immediate area while our investigators continue their investigation.”

Motorists and other road users are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes.

The fatality marks the second incident in less than six months in which a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Langley. A pedestrian was struck by a train near Crush Crescent and Glover Road on Tuesday evening, August 19, 2025, and later died.
