Charges expected after 2-car crash in Abbotsford, one of which struck a home

ABBOTSFORD – A spokesperson for the Abbotsford Police Department says charges are expected following a two-vehicle crash in which a vehicle left the roadway and struck a nearby house Monday morning.

According to a statement of confirmation from AbbyPD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker, AbbyPD officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the area of Coral Avenue and Clearbrook Road on Monday morning, Jan. 26 at 5:46 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, both vehicles were found with significant damage.

Sgt. Walker says one vehicle had left the roadway and struck a nearby house. Thankfully, no inside the home was injured.

Early indications suggest that one of the drivers failed to stop at the intersection stop sign. Impairment has been ruled out as a contributing factor. One driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, and charges under the Motor Vehicle Act are expected, Sgt. Walker said.
