Chilliwack Community Band to hold free concert next month

CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Community Band invites the community to a free concert next month featuring music for all ages and activities for kids.

The band, which has been sharing its love of music with the Chilliwack community for well over 30 years, will hold its third annual BC Family Day concert on Monday, February 16 at 2 p.m. at 6300 Tyson Road. There’s plenty of free parking in the back of the building.

The free event features door prizes for kids, face painting and surprise acts.

The Chilliwack Community Band’s last event was a Christmas-themed concert held on December 12 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, featuring performer Ken Lavigne, in partnership with the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra & Chorus.

Chilliwack Community Band is a volunteer-based group that enjoys playing music and providing a service to the broader Chilliwack community. It is comprised of musicians ranging in age from high school students to retirees, reflecting a broad spectrum of ages and experience. All members have years of music experience but it always welcomes new members who have basic skills in music literacy.
