Comedy-drama play takes road trip to Chilliwack Cultural Centre February
CHILLIWACK — A Vancouver theatre company is heading over to Chilliwack to perform a widower’s journey of self-discovery – travelling 21 hours along the desert.
“Burning Mom”, the story of a recently-widowed woman who takes a solo road trip to Burning Man to honour her late husband’s retirement plans, is coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on February 4.
“Join us for this heartfelt, hilarious, and wholly original story about rediscovery and reinvention,” said the Vancouver Arts Club’s Artistic Director, Ashlie Corcoran.
“Burning Mom is inspired by playwright Meiko Ouchi’s own mother’s late-in-life adventures. [It] celebrates the courage it takes to start again at any age, and we can all take a little bit of that courage home with us.”
