CHILLIWACK — After spending over 1,300 days at a local animal care home in Chilliwack, Lizzy the cat is getting a new lease on life – and she’ll have a fellow feline for company.

The Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven announced Sunday afternoon that Lizzy, who spent about 3 1/2 years at the animal care centre, has been adopted and will share her new home with Martha, who also got adopted Sunday.

“We are so excited to say that Lizzy has been adopted! You both deserve the best, happy life ladies!” Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven.

Back in December, Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven put out a call that a sweet, playful cat named Lizzy had been eager for a new home following a roughly 1,300-day stay there.

“Let’s get this beautiful girl adopted! These soulful eyes show a sweet, playful cat so soft to the touch,” Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven said in December online.

At the time, the animal haven dutifully pointed out that Lizzy required some daily medicine but handled it like a pro.

“Lizzy does need one ‘vitamin’ a day but she takes it like a trooper. Please, someone, give her a chance! You won’t regret it. If one cat is your goal she can accommodate!” the animal haven wrote.

Christy Moschopedis, manager of the Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven, told Fraser Valley Today that the beloved cat was one of her favourites.

“She is one of my favourite cats at the shelter and any help to find her a family is so appreciated. She’s been with us for far too long,” Moschopedis said in December.

There are many, many other cats that could use a “fur-ever” home at the Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven. The animal haven can be reached at chwkanimalsafehaven@gmail.com.
