Downed wire cuts power to Chilliwack, Abbotsford residents

CHILLIWACK — BC Hydro crews have been working to restore power to over 1,400 customers in the Chilliwack and Abbotsford areas after it went out Friday morning (Jan. 9).

The energy provider’s outage map says a wire went down and cut power to residents from the Interprovincial Highway and No. 4 Road to Columbia Valley Road by Lindell Beach at around 6 a.m.

A crew has since been dispatched to the site, and power is expected to come back on at 11:30 a.m. today.
