Inmate serving indefinite prison term in Abbotsford dies in custody

ABBOTSFORD — The Correctional Service of Canada says a man who was serving an indefinite prison sentence at a correctional facility in Abbotsford has died.

In a statement, the CSC says William Jacques Louis McNichol, an inmate from Pacific Institution’s Regional Treatment Centre, died this past Sunday, January 4 of apparent natural causes.

The feds did not reveal the circumstances around McNichol’s indefinite prison term.

At the time of death, the inmate was 75 years old and had been serving an indeterminate sentence, which began on November 30, 1990.
