31-year-old Delta man charged for slashing another man’s face at Yaletown nightclub early Sunday: VPD

VANCOUVER — Police in Vancouver say a 31-year-old man from Delta has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault for allegedly slashing another man’s face with a knife at a Yaletown night-club early Sunday morning.

According to a statement, Vancouver Police responded just before 3 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 28) to reports of an assault inside a night-club near Nelson Street and Hamilton Street.

Police say witnesses intervened and provided first aid to the victim before law enforcement arrived on scene.

Vancouver Police arrested a suspect outside the night-club. The victim received treatment in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Police do not believe the incident was random.

Delta resident Paramveer Singh Jhooti, 31, has now been charged with one count of aggravated assault. He remains in police custody.
