51-year-old suspect charged with robbery for allegedly stealing senior’s purse, released on bail: Vancouver PD

VANCOUVER — Police in Vancouver say a 51-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with robbery for allegedly snatching a purse from a senior in South Vancouver on Tuesday.

According to a statement, Vancouver Police Department responded at about 9 a.m. Tuesday morning (Dec. 23) after getting reports that a man tried to rob a 68-year-old woman of her purse near Fraser Street and East 45th Avenue.

A witness called 9-1-1 to report the robbery, allowing officers to locate and arrest the suspect.

Chris Fyfe, 51, has been charged with one count of robbery.

Police say Fyfe has since been released on bail by the courts.
