Highway 1 fully reopens in both lanes in Abbotsford: AbbyPD Sgt. Walker
ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford PD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker now says both eastbound lanes on Highway 1 are reopening between Sumas Way and No. 3 Road in Abbotsford.
On top of that, Sgt. Walker says the Whatcom on- and off-ramps are also in the process of being reopened.
According to a video update posted at 11:03 a.m., Sgt. Walker said, “We know Sumas Way is heavily backed up. We know eastbound traffic is heavily backed up. Bear with us. It’s in process. It should be open soon. I also want to make mention that the two on-ramps, both eastbound and westbound at Whatcom (exit 95) are currently now open. We are in the process of opening up the off-ramps as well. So, over the next few minutes, you should start to see that starting to open up, and the congestion is gonna get a little lighter. If anything else changes, I’ll come back and update you throughout the day.”
