Chilliwack Cultural Centre to present period-inspired Christmas winter concert

CHILLIWACK — Residents are invited to come in and warm up with a magical winter sonata next month in Chilliwack.

On December 9, the Chilliwack Cultural Centre is set to host “Winter Harp” – a collection of familiar, Celtic, and medieval music presented by an ensemble of orchestral instruments ranging from drums and temple bells to fiddle and the organistrum.

“Winter Harp concerts both evoke and create beautiful memories,” said Lori Pappajohn, Winter Harp co-founder and musical director. “We remember the Christmas trees we decorated, the joy of spending time with loved ones, the anticipation of Christmas morning.”

Pappajohn also designed the period-inspired costumes worn in the performance, with the help of a dedicated dressmaker over the course of several months of detailed work.
