CHILLIWACK — The Sardis Secondary Falcons boys basketball program has welcomed to its coaching ranks a former Chilliwack product who recently completed his master’s degree and finished a lengthy collegiate career in the U.S. and Canada.

The school announced Monday (Oct. 6) that is thrilled to name Jalen Edwards as its Junior Boys co-head coach.

Coach Edwards arrives after completing his master’s degree at Brock University and wrapping up an impressive 5-year university playing career.

Sardis Secondary says his journey includes time with Brock University, University of Regina, Erskine Flying Fleet (NCAA Div. II) in South Carolina, and Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves (NJCAA) — “a true testament to his dedication and love for the game.”

As a Chilliwack product and former Abbotsford Senior standout, Edwards, a 6-foot-5 wing, was a two-sport captain in football and basketball and recognized as the Top Overall Student in his grad class.

“At Sardis Secondary Basketball, we’re proud to have coaches who lead with knowledge, passion, and care — and Coach Jalen embodies all of that and more,” the school wrote. “Coach Jalen will be working with all boys within the boys program while focusing on the JR Boys. Let’s go, Coach Jalen — we’re lucky to have you as a Falcon!”
