KANSAS CITY — The Toronto Blue Jays have placed starting pitcher Chris Bassitt on the 15-day injured list, the club announced Saturday.
The right-hander has inflammation in his lower back. The move is retroactive to Friday.
Toronto recalled left-hander Mason Fluharty from triple-A Buffalo in time for Saturday night’s game in Kansas City against the Royals.
Bassitt gave up three earned runs on eight hits in his last start Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
