CHILLIWACK — Some familiar Chilliwack faces will be heading to prison for a good cause later this week.

Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers’ Jail and Bail fundraiser is making its way to Chilliwack this Friday, September 19 in District 1881 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to arrest some of its most well-meaning citizens in the community, all to support a safer Fraser Valley.

Crime Stoppers is typically mentioned at the end of many news releases from the Chilliwack RCMP detachment so that people who want to remain anonymous can report criminal activity through their tip line.

Headlining the list of arrestees are elected officials like Chilliwack Mayor Ken Popove, Councillor Bud Mercer, SD33 trustees Richard Procee, as well as Glen Slingerland from 89.5 JR Country, Chilliwack real estate agents Jason Laynes and Scott McVetty, and familiar faces like downtown Chilliwack cleanup guru Harold Zinke.
