Cultus Lake crews respond to 2 drownings, 1 medical call in 5 days
CULTUS LAKE — Emergency crews in Cultus Lake have been paged out a few times after two drowning deaths and one non-emergency call this past week.
Scanner traffic reported a possible drowning in the Sunnyside area at around 7:15 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 30). An air ambulance was called in to a nearby school, with multiple emergency personnel at the campground.
An anonymous BCEHS source confirmed the fatality with Fraser Valley Today, as well as a non-emergency medical call that caused some panic on Sunday (Aug. 31).
The source explained that there was a large response due to the size of the group involved. No one was taken to hospital, and there were no injuries, deaths or threats to life during that event.
