CHILLIWACK — The wait is over for macarons, croissants and other treats at Chilliwack’s newest French bakery.

After months of interior construction in a small retail storefront in Promontory, Maison Macaron has officially opened its doors at 107-5615 Teskey Way in Chilliwack.

The small business wrote on Facebook that its first day of business was today, Thursday, August 21.

Moving forward, it will be open to customers Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

One customer already raved about the store’s delicious baked goods.

“Just bought a great tasting sourdough loaf, croissant & macarons….all delicious! I will be returning,” Rosalee Carruthers wrote on a Promontory-area Facebook group.

Maison Macaron is located in the same shopping centre as Close to Home Grocery & Deli and Promontory Liquor Store.

On its Instagram page, Maison Macaron says the bakery will feature croissants, gourmet cookies, coffee and more.

Maison Macaron is the sister company of Gourmand Macaron & Pastries, founded by Paulin Calot in 2012 in Vancouver.

In 2020, Gourmand Macaron opened a bakery in Ladner Village called Gourmand Macaron & Friends. In the fall of 2024, Calot and his family moved to Promontory in Chilliwack.

“The empty retail location on the Promontory Plaza was a sign to start a new venture, called Maison Macaron,” the company’s website stated.
