Abbotsford school district welcomes new assistant superintendent

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford School District (SD34) has now welcomed a new assistant superintendent following the appointment of a new leader this summer.

Lisa Burdeyny has been part of the District since 1994, with a career that has steadily moved up from teaching positions in both Abbotsford Middle and Senior Secondary Schools to becoming a district principal for human resources.

“Lisa’s wealth of experience, combined with her deep commitment to the success of students and staff, will be a tremendous asset to our district leadership team,” said Superintendent Dr. Nathan Ngieng.

“Her proven ability to lead with integrity, vision, and collaboration will continue to strengthen our learning community.”

SD34’s board of trustees is also facing personnel changes this year. A by-election is set to be held in the fall to replace B.C. MLA Korky Neufeld, after recent legislation that says provincially elected members would not be allowed to have local positions.
